Step 1: Get your API key
Navigate to the admin screen
Click "Integrations" -> API keys
Click "New"
Find Cavalry in the dropdown menu and create API key
Copy your API key
Step 2: Activate your integration in Cavalry
Open Cavalry HR and navigate to "Company"
Click "Connect Ashby"
Paste your API key and connect
If connected successfully you'll see the sign "Active". Press "Generate Key" below.
Copy this key and enter it in your Ashby assessment partner configuration (Admin → Integrations → Integrations → Cavalry → Cavalry API Key).
Step 3: Connect with job
Create new job
Add a title, job description, customize screening and interview questions and click "create job"
When the job posted you'll be able to connect it to the same job in Ashby
Select "Assessment"
After that click "link job"
The integration is now live.
Now choose the stage where you want to run the assessment. Open your job at Ashby → Interview Plan
Click "Add Activity to ..." → Add Activity → AI Cavalry. Then choose your assessment and click "Add"
Step 4: Run Interviews with Cavalry
Move candidates to the stage
Move candidates in your ATS to the stage you selected in the previous step. You'll see the button "Start Assessment" in will send the interview invite to the candidate's email
Candidates complete the interview
Candidates receive a personalized interview link and complete the AI-led interview on Cavalry. The time to complete this stage depends on the candidate.
Review results in your ATS
Once the interview is completed, Cavalry prepares the assessment results and automatically sends them to Ashby.
The candidate’s ATS profile is updated with:
an overall evaluation score,
detailed structured feedback
a link to the interview video recording.
To view the results, click the triangle button to the left of “AI Cavalry Assessment,” then click “Show Cavalry Link.”
